All Councillors are members of a number of Committees and/or Advisory Groups.
Committees are formal groups that have to publish their agendas and minutes. Committees have delegated powers to make decisions. Buckden Parish Council has two Committees:
- The Planning Committee and the Village Maintenance Committee
The Terms of reference for the Planning Committee can be found at https://buckdenpc.org.uk/planning/ and the Terms of Reference for the Village Maintenance Committee can be found here: https://buckdenpc.org.uk/buckden-parish-council-advisory-groups/village-maintenance-committee/
There are a number of Advisory Groups whose role is to support the Parish Council by considering in detail a range of matters relating to their remit, Advisory Groups advise the Council but any recommendations they make have to be approved by full Council.
Membership of the Parish Council Advisory Groups can be drawn from the local community and representatives of countywide organisations, along with at least one Parish Councillor as a member. The chair of each group is responsible for bringing relevant issues discussed by the Group to the attention of the Parish Council, including any recommendations for action by the Council.
If you wish to raise any issues specifically with the Chair or a member of an advisory group or committee, please email the Clerk with your query or comment, saying: FOR THE ATTENTION OF ……. and then add the name of the person you wish to respond. The Clerk will then forward the query on and the member of the group will reply to you.
